NREL TOUR 2000
On December 7th, 2000, members of the Table Mountains Conservation Fund, Inc. and Save
The Mesas were given a tour of the National Renewable
Energy Laboratory's South Table Mountain top facility. NREL has a great deal of
property on the top and side of South Table Mountain that has been designated a
conservation easement (175 acres).

details. There are a couple gentle trails leading to the top of South Table Mountain
from the NREL visitor's center. Parking is available at the Visitor Center Parking lot. A
trail leads directly from the parking lot and splits into two separate trails that both
lead to mountain top access points. This is by far, the most gentle slope on which
to get up South Table Mountain. Enjoy! The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is home to
the Solar Radiation Research Laboratory.
